Manitoba Museum

As the province’s largest not-for-profit heritage and science centre, the Manitoba Museum aims to represent the complete spectrum of what the province stands for in history, science, and culture. The museum features three main areas: galleries for history (global and local focuses), galleries for science exhibits, and the Planetarium.

“The Manitoba Museum is the largest ‘classroom’ in the province, where approximately 90 thousand students visit each year,” says Lana Adeleye-Olusae, Director of Human Resources at the Manitoba Museum. “We help students, families, and guests of all ages discover history, culture, science, and art.”

The Manitoba Museum provides a wide variety of jobs, from arts and sciences disciplines, to organizational administration and support, to frontline guest services. Biologists, zoologists, and archeologists are on staff. Positions of exhibit maintenance and conservation are also very important to ensuring exhibits remain in top condition. Frontlines services like hosts, tour guides, box office services, and gift shop associates are essential, as well. Bilingualism is always an asset amongst employees.

“The mandate of the Museum is very compelling,” says Adeleye-Olusae, “and it is very rewarding for those who work here to be able to know they are part of sharing knowledge with the world. It is a true team environment here, where people are passionate about what they do.”
